Growers’ Notes and Photos (USDA Zones 4a – 8a)
Cherry tomato. Determinate, grows to about 3-4 ft (1-1.2 m). The bush is “transparent,” the stems are elegantly thin, and the leaves are small. The flavor of the fruits is wonderful—that’s really the best way to put it. Grew it in the greenhouse, didn’t prune any suckers.
Sweet, tasty cherries.
One drawback: sometimes the fruits split when you pick them, so it’s better to snip them off with the stem attached. But on the bush itself, not a single tomato split, no matter how long they hung there after ripening.
Mine grew out to be exactly the same color and description as Sweet’s.
It set trusses every two leaves, very early, was the very first one to ripen in the cold frame.
Seeds were sent by Galina P. from Moscow.
Full Summary: Plant, Yield, and Taste
- 🌿 Plant: Determinate, but vigorously productive. It features very thin, “wispy” or “transparent” stems and small leaves. Height ranges from 1.5 – 2.5 ft (0.5 – 0.8 m) outdoors, to over 4 ft (1.2+ m) in a greenhouse or high tunnel. Excellent for container gardening.
- 📈 Yield: Extremely high. Growers report it sets dense, heavy trusses every two leaves. It is a very early ripener, often the first cherry to produce in the garden.
- 👅 Taste: Sweet and perfectly balanced.
- 📦 Storage: While they hold well on the vine without cracking, they are prone to splitting at the shoulders when pulled. Growers recommend snipping them with a bit of stem attached.
- 🌎 Who Reviewed It: 5 growers across USDA Zones 4a to 8a (Russia, Estonia, and France).
