Growers’ Notes and Photos (USDA Zones 3-11 Experience)
This variety absolutely knocked my socks off! What a stunner!
Indeterminate, ran it with two leaders. At planting I threw in: a handful of dried banana peels, a handful of rotted chicken manure, a tablespoon of superphosphate, 1/2 tsp of potassium chloride, and a handful of crushed eggshells (didn’t add any frog legs or mouse tails, though 😉).
Grew exactly as an indet should, didn’t take up too much space. It set fruit consistently and evenly, zero blossom drop, the tomatoes didn’t crack, and the vine stayed perfectly disease-free. The taste is subjective – my husband really loves green tomatoes, and he absolutely loved this Great White + P20 F5.
The only downside is that it’s late! The neighbors were taking pictures of it like it was a peach 😆. Big thanks to Mouse for the seeds!

I couldn’t wait for these fruits to color up and ripen. Seeds were from A.I. Kulik. Matched the catalog description perfectly.
Turned out mid-season for me. Grew it in the polycarb greenhouse. It was highly productive with a really long harvest window. Sturdy, healthy vine reaching about 6 feet (1.8 m). I got around 40 fruits off it, averaging 8.8 oz (250 g). The tomatoes are so beautiful, unique, and delicious. Great shelf life too, my last ones kept perfectly fine until late November.
Alena, how is it different from Great white purple?
Several lines came out of this cross. One of them is Great White Blue/Blues, which folks on the forum abbreviate to BBB. Here’s the gift I got from Tiffany. The size of the fruits on the first truss is seriously impressive! Thank you!
Full Summary: Plant, Yield, Taste and Storage
- 🌿 Plant: Indeterminate, healthy, and crack-resistant. Grown both outdoors (reaching 5.2 feet / 1.6 m) and in greenhouses (around 6 feet / 1.8 m). Several lines exist from this cross, including “Great White Blue”.
- 📈 Yield: Generally very high with a long harvest window and no blossom drop, though it can be on the late side. Lana_s_Kavkaza noted that extreme heat and fruitworms lowered her yield.
- 👅 Taste: Consistently rated 5 out of 5. Very sweet, soft, completely free of acid, with the classic earthy flavor typical of anthocyanin varieties.
- 📦 Storage: Excellent shelf life. Tiffany reported that her last harvested fruits stored well until late November. Fruits average 6.5-8.8 oz (186-250 g).
- 🌎 Who Reviewed It: Eight growers chimed in from zones ranging from Siberia and Moscow to scorching Las Palmas, Spain.
