An amazing tomato. Beautiful, delicious, and a heavy yielder. Pink fruits on a vine that gets up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall.

I really liked New Königsberg Pink (my seeds were from the Ural Dachnik company). It’s a heavy yielder, delicious, with very meaty flesh. It’s somewhat similar to the Minusinsk Glasses variety.

Full Summary: Plant, Yield, Taste and Storage

  • 🌿 Plant: Indeterminate. Vigorous vines grow dependably to about 6 feet (1.8 m) tall.
  • 📈 Yield: Excellent. Growers note that it is highly productive, loading up the vines with uniform clusters of elongated fruit.
  • 👅 Taste: Sweet, classic pink tomato flavor. Known for being exceptionally delicious right off the vine.
  • 📦 Texture/Usage: The fruits are pink and uniquely shaped—elongated and cylindrical, closely resembling a drinking glass or a large, blunt plum. The interior is famously meaty and dense with minimal gel, making it an absolute workhorse in the kitchen for sauces, pastes, and canning, while still being tasty enough to eat fresh.

👨‍🌾 Editor’s Note: The Königsberg Family
“Königsberg” is the historical German name for the Russian city of Kaliningrad. In the Russian tomato world, the Königsberg lineage is incredibly popular and includes several commercial variations (such as Golden Königsberg, Heart-Shaped Königsberg, and Red Königsberg). They are highly regarded for their reliability in cooler climates, elongated shapes, and dense, meaty interiors. As one grower noted, the “Pink” variation’s cylindrical shape is very comparable to “Minusinsk Glasses” (a famous Siberian heirloom shaped like a drinking glass).
