Priamurskiy Konus (Amur Cone) Tomato Review: Meaty Pink Hearts

Quick Summary of Priamurskiy Konus (Amur Cone)

  • 🌍 Origin: A highly regarded Russian heirloom variety. The name translates to “Amur Cone”, indicating its shape and connection to the Amur region.
  • 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate, medium vigor. Reaches about 1.8 m (6 ft) in a greenhouse. Requires strong staking, as growers report plants can literally fall over from the heavy fruit load.
  • 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Beautiful pink fruits that range from sharply cone-shaped to plump oxhearts. The skin is thin, and the flesh is incredibly dense.
  • 👅 Flavor & Texture: Known as an “all-meat” tomato. It has practically no gel or seeds inside, making it perfect for slicing, sauces, or paste. The flavor is rich and intensely tomatoey.
  • Maturity: Early to mid-season. It is praised for being unpretentious and reliable, even in harsh Siberian climates (such as Kemerovo, USDA Zone 3).
  • 💡 Pro Tips for Growing: This variety frequently produces fused/megabloom blossoms (double fruits), resulting in spectacular, giant tomatoes. The fruit set is excellent, often yielding up to 6 tomatoes per cluster.

For some reason, not a single kind word in 6 years… And the variety is excellent! To the above I will add – it is quite early-ripening, unpretentious, and productive. Practically without seeds or juice, solid “meat” with a rich tomato flavor. Thanks for the seeds to our Svetlana @SVETLA

A very good variety, I also love it. This year only one bush grew, but it fell over from the weight of the tomatoes. I like its sort of double (fused) fruits, they are always giant beauties.

This season, such plump hearts grew:

A tasty and very productive variety – one of the most productive in 2024.

Seeds from Irina @Iskorka. Irisha, thank you!
