Indeterminate, tall-growing variety; in my greenhouse, it reached 7.2 feet (2.2 meters). For me, it turned out to be mid-season (although the description says mid-late). It is very productive, and it did not drop any blossoms even during unfavorable weather conditions. The fruits are oval-shaped, red, and large. Mine were up to 10.5 oz / 300 grams (the description says up to 21 oz / 600g). They are firm, meaty, and have a good flavor. I will definitely be repeating this one for its high yield and low-maintenance nature. Seeds were from Vera Monakhova.

Ladies, who has grown this, tell me your thoughts. I’ve been growing it year after year for about 10 years now. Thanks to Marina from Sochi for the seeds. The first few years, the yield was very low for me, but the shape and size won me over. Now, after acclimatizing, the yield is excellent! And looking at it now, it is very similar to “Podsinskoe Chudo” (Podsin’s Miracle), which appeared on the market later. But there is one major difference year after year: Podsinskoe Chudo constantly gets Blossom End Rot (BER), while Baklazhan does not get it at all.
I absolutely adore this giant plum tomato.
I planted it last year, the seeds were from Vera (tomatinka). The variety absolutely amazed me with its high yield. I don’t remember the exact flavor, but I saved plenty of seeds. This year I will be planting it from my own saved seeds.
