📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR): Blazhenstvo (Bliss)
- 🌍 Origin: A stunning modern variety introduced by Russian breeder and collector Sofia Saakova. The name translates beautifully to “Bliss”.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall). It has proven to be quite resistant to Leaf Mold (Cladosporium), staying healthy late into the season. Note: It is a late-season variety in cooler climates, so start your seeds early.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: An absolutely gorgeous anthocyanin (purple/black splashed) tricolor beefsteak. The fruits are large and heavy, reaching up to 1.1 lbs (500g). Despite being a large heirloom, it has surprisingly good shelf life.
- 👅 Flavor & Texture: Living up to its name, the flavor is incredible. It is very sweet with a perfectly balanced touch of tanginess and distinct fruity notes. The flesh is dense and meaty.
- ⏳ Yield: High-yielding.
A variety from Sofia (Sofia27 / Sofia Saakova). A very delicious tomato! Sweet with just a slight tang. Productive and beautiful. It keeps pretty well on the counter. Relatively resistant to leaf mold (Cladosporium); my plant only just now caught it at the very end of the season. The only downside is that it is a late-season variety for our shorter northern summers. But it’s still staying on my permanent grow list!
An amazing variety from Sofia Saakova, absolutely gorgeous. The taste is sweet with fruity notes.

A very delicious tomato, definitely going on the repeat list for 2026. I actively collect sweet varieties, and this one is absolutely staying in my collection!
