Quick Summary of Serdtse Denisa (Denis’s Heart)

  • 🌍 Origin: A stunning modern cross bred by Russian tomato breeder Tatiana Nagle.
  • 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall) and mid-season. The plant has a classic “skinny” oxheart growth habit with delicate, wispy foliage.
  • 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Gorgeous anthocyanin bicolor oxhearts. The base color is orange with a red blush, heavily splashed with dark purple anthocyanin on the shoulders and sides. They usually weigh around 100-150g (3.5-5.3 oz), with occasional fruits reaching up to 250g (8.8 oz). When sliced, they reveal a beautiful red “tongue” or flame in the center of the dense, meaty flesh.
  • 👅 Flavor: Exceptionally sweet. Growers describe the flavor profile as “fruity-sweet” and “candy-like”.

It was a very skinny little bush (wispy foliage). The fruits had beautiful coloring, and when sliced open, they had a little red “tongue” (flame pattern inside). The flesh is dense, meaty, and has a sweet candy-like taste.
