📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR): Voyage F1 (Voyazh F1)
- 🌍 Origin: A commercial F1 hybrid from the Russian seed company “Poisk” (Search).
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall). An extremely vigorous and resilient greenhouse variety that easily surpasses 6.5 ft (2 m). Growers note its impressive ability to bounce back from extreme heat scorch by pushing out productive lower suckers.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics & The “Off-Type” Issue: The official packet describes it as a round, pink slicing tomato with a distinct pointed tip (beak) on the blossom end, weighing 4.5-5.3 oz (130-150 g). However, a bad batch of seeds hit the market, and several growers in this thread ended up with a red, heart-shaped, beakless “off-type”.
- 👅 Flavor: The “true” pink variety is a solid, traditional-tasting tomato. The red off-type, however, is universally criticized as being incredibly bland and tasteless despite looking gorgeous.
- 🛡️ Disease Resistance: Bred with comprehensive resistance to TMV, Alternaria, Late Blight, and Fusarium Wilt. Real-world growers confirm it is practically bulletproof against diseases.
I grew Voyage F1 in 2015. It’s an indet (indeterminate, over 6.5 ft / 2 m tall, grew it in the greenhouse). Very productive, didn’t catch any diseases at all. After suffering from heat scorch (burning up in the greenhouse), it survived and pumped out a ton of maters on the lower suckers. The fruits are very firm.
In my opinion, it’s a very reliable little hybrid. The taste is normal, your traditional “tomato” flavor, definitely not “horrible”. I’m planning to repeat it next year.

Seeds from “Poisk”. Very beautiful, heart-shaped, red tomatoes. The yield is excellent. But the taste is just a horror 😲🤢. It is just absolutely bland and tasteless. Such a shame, considering how beautiful it is 😢.
I think you got an off-type (wrong seeds). In your photo, there is no pointed tip (beak) and the color is wrong.
Here is the manufacturer’s description from “Poisk”: “Tomato Voyage F1 – ‘Author’s Varieties and Hybrids’ series. A slicer with beautiful, tasty fruits of an attractive shape! An early-ripening, high-yielding indeterminate hybrid for open ground and film greenhouses. 95-100 days from sprouting to the start of fruiting. The plant requires staking and pruning. Fruits are round with a ‘beak’ on the blossom end, smooth, uniform, firm. The color of unripe fruit is light green, ripe is an even pink. Weight 4.5-5.3 oz (130-150 g). Comprehensive resistance to diseases: TMV, Alternaria, Late Blight, Fusarium wilt. Good for transport. Slicing variety.”

Elena, did your “Voyage” have a pointed tip (beak)?
I just tried my Voyage 🤦♀️ It ripened among the very first ones, but I was not impressed by the look or the taste. There was no beak on mine either 😠 I won’t be planting it again.

It DID have a beak!
I didn’t plant it this year, I just really wanted to try some new varieties. Maybe next year “Voyage” will get lucky and earn a spot in my garden again…
