I had it from Popenko, I really liked the taste. But it loses out on yield. Not enough on the bush.
Tanya, I didn’t get a big harvest from that exact packet, and the tomato was a slow thinker. I planted it at the very back of the greenhouse, where it was a bit dark. But the tomatoes are dense, and the taste is not bad. I mostly canned it. It didn’t crack. I won’t plant it this year.
My pink flamingo:
This year I planted it outdoors in open ground, 4 bushes. So far only a couple of fruits have set. Trying it for the 3rd year, I am disappointed. The first year it grew in the greenhouse, the fruits were pink plums, tasty, but low-yielding. I won’t plant it anymore. I think the seeds were from Eurosemena originally, then I saved my own.
Oh, in the photos it looks exactly like my Pink Flamingo, and even the yield is the same, except mine is sitting outdoors in open ground and almost all the tomatoes have already turned pink. Mine grew from Valentina Redko’s seeds; it turned out very tasty and the earliest among all the large ones.
Last year I grew “Ukrainian Pink Flamingo”. I really liked the large canning plum shape. I adore that size and shape. A very tall, highly productive indeterminate.
This year I decided to grow two more: 1) The Heart-shaped one — it failed, got sick as a seedling, and 2) Natasha’s (Yaroslavna’s).
So, the second one terminated its growth (вершковался) after setting just one fruit. I was disappointed, but then a sucker took off, and man, did it start fruiting! 👍 Apparently, it was lacking something initially. And oh, how pleasantly it surprised me with its sharp beak! I’ve never seen such a thing on any tomato, it looks so sharp you could prick yourself on it 🙂 A real handsome guy.
I sent it for canning since it’s dense, to see how it behaves in a jar. Haven’t had time to taste it yet. I will gut it for seeds and report back 😄 But this tomato is worth planting just for its beauty alone!

A very tasty, productive variety.
From Balashov I got a large plum, and from Popenko, a raspberry-colored heart. Truly rich raspberry color. The fruits are not very large, but the bush was loaded… 😋
