Mine grew in the greenhouse, I pruned it to two stems and it grew to 1.5 meters (5 ft).
Mine grew in the greenhouse and it didn’t even reach 1 meter (3.3 ft). I think its place is outdoors in open ground.
Why strange? It’s a determinate-type plant, it finishes forming the bush at about 1-1.3 meters (3.3-4.2 ft) depending on growing conditions. If you leave a strong extra sucker, it continues its vegetative growth further…
Strange because on most photos it doesn’t look like a determinate… 😲
And almost everyone has it in a greenhouse. I can’t afford to plant a determinate smaller than 1 meter tall in the greenhouse (wastes vertical space). That’s why I’m figuring it out. Will it tolerate the open ground of the Moscow region?.. 😕
Natasha, to answer this question, you need to try it yourself—why guess? Grow it outdoors and you’ll see if you manage to get such large fruits… and how many trusses the plant can set outdoors… But still, you’ll probably grow it under some temporary shelter anyway…

No, indeterminate, grows all the way to the greenhouse roof, then I chop its head off (top it). 😛 The most productive variety, I got it from Lidochka, plant it every single year!

There are very tasty indeterminates: thin-skinned heart-shaped and pepper-shaped ones. Then there is the determinate: with original long-nosed, striped fruits and slightly thicker skin.
I grew the pepper-shaped one (seeds from Ukrainian GL SEEDS), it can crack in open ground. I liked it because even when picked unripe, it ripened perfectly off the vine and had a wonderful taste.

On the contrary! Different seed companies and collectors just gave the exact same name to tomatoes of entirely different classes.

Natasha, I grew all 3 Flamingos (the plum, the heart, and the striped one with the beak) outdoors in open ground. They are all tasty and productive. The plum and heart are indeterminates, the striped one is determinate, it terminates its growth around 1 meter (3.3 ft), so you have to leave an extra sucker to extend its growth.
